Breastfeeding in public

My baby is 6 days old, I want to start going out but I’m a little nervous about breastfeeding in public, sometimes she doesn’t latch well and it can take a while but I don’t want it to stop me getting out. Any recommendations on how to cover up but still get her sorted without it becoming too stressful for both.

Has a GP ever given you their mobile number?

I can't decide if this is normal or not. For context, I've met him several times and he's always been nothing but helpful. Then one day he gave me his number and said I could book in with him directly next time. I also wasn't sure if he just meant to use it on that one occasion or whether he was okay with me contact...

When can I leave my baby with MIL?

Our baby is due on June 8th and it’s my husbands 30th on 29th June. So if she comes on time, she will be exactly 3 weeks old. I’d like to take my husband to the cinema (a film he really wants to watch comes out that week) and for a meal. I’m hoping to breastfeed so I know I’ll be very tied to the baby but also hopin...

Car seat help?

Hi so I have abit of a dilemma and I’m confused as to what other single moms who dont drive do, because I’m baffled. So I don’t drive which means I rely on buses and taxis, where I live the bus is every hour and a half so I do end up using taxis a lot, or at least a taxi to come home. Now luckily I have a 3 in 1 tr...

How many times a day do you think “I wanna die”?

I am not planning on killing myself. I don’t even really think l want to die. Like the thought of leaving my kids sounds unbearable and I would never do that. I just find myself thinking that phrase a lot. And yes I’m in therapy and on medication. Just curious if anyone has dealt with this?

Husband is sleeping on the couch Am I the Asshole?

My daughter and I fell asleep together around 9pm. Her father started a phone call a few feet away and woke us up after it took me forever to get her down. I brushed it off decided to use the time to get things done. He wasn’t doing anything but playing on his phone so I asked if he would keep an eye on her so I cou...

Early wake ups

My baby wakes up at 4:30-5am every morning and won’t go back to sleep, I’ve tried earlier and later bedtimes but it still makes no difference… he’s 8 months and has also now begun only sleeping for 30 minutes during naps Throughout the day resulting in him having 6 naps😩I can’t get anything done during the day as…

Does this happen to anyone else..

My son fully wakes up, is wiggling and fussing around so I go get a feed ready.. come back and he is asleep again? So I go back to bed and then he jumps awake and starts all over again? It’s not active sleep because he’s proper looking around but then it’s like he passes out? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyone else up?

Cannot get my boy to settle and stay in his bed tonight 🫠 I think he’s really overtired at this point and keeps demanding fed but falling asleep on the boob. I’ve waited various lengths of time to put him down, burped him and made sure his nappy is clean and he is still not staying asleep despite feeding almost non…

Gentle parenting 🫠

How am I supposed to gentle parent a child that literally doesn't stop crying ever? He literally just screamed and cried for 30+ minutes because he wanted a chocolate chip granola bar right after dinner (that he refused) and I told him he had to wait until after pjs.

Struggling with sleep

My baby is 5 weeks old and was typically going to sleep at around 10/11pm which wasn’t too bad. I would also be able to feed and then put her down and she’d have maybe one false start but then sleep. The last 5 nights or so she’s not gone to sleep until 2am and now 3am, it’s really starting to affect me now. She’ll ...

Son fell off bed

My son rolled off the bed today. I am devastated. Our bed is probably just over half a metre high. The bedside drawer was open, but I don’t believe he hit it on the way down otherwise he would be much worse off. But I do think he went to lift his head up and donked it in the bedside drawer. So he has a red line on h...

Am I a bad mom ?

My baby girl is 11months and doesn’t know how to use a bottle or sippy cup because she’s breast fed and barley eats solids mostly because I’m too lazy to enforce meals and cook for her it’s so much easier to whip out a boob and nurse her…but when I do cook for her she only eats a few bits and waste most of it so I f...

What device can I set up in my home

I am needing a device I can access through my phone to periodically “listen in” at home… since I can’t figure out how to see how many hours a day my SO is actually on video games. 🙄 Yes… I am taking it to the next level because this is my final straw!

Making formula

So I know this might sound like a silly question but it’s been bugging me for a few days now. When I make my baby’s bottles I fill the water up to 150ml and add 5 scoops of formula which to me is a 5oz bottle but when it’s made up it’s almost 6oz. I get that when you add the powder it will increase the volume of the...

Too much water?

I was giving my four month old a bath, and I had the water too high and almost at her shoulders, but she was laying in her own tub that’s tilted inside ours, so her chest and front of her shoulders were exposed. As I’m cleaning her neck I turn away from her face for a second and I realize she’s been licking some of ...
