PGT-A Results From one IVF Round to the Next

Has anyone that's done 2 or more cycles of IVF and PGT, experience a sharp difference in % of euploid embryos. Last fall we had 5 blasts, 2 genetically normal (ended in chemical though). Just now we did another round and got 9 blasts, but 7 were anuploid. 2 came back "no result" so they are being rebipsied and tested. The doctor warmed one is fully hatched and not great morphology. I can't believe we went from 40% genetically normal (standard for our age), to potentially 0%. I'm just having a hard time accepting that. I am 38 but I've had a baby before (3 years ago), and my AMH is 2.3. Any feedback appreciated

Hey I did 3 rounds of egg collection back to back. There is 100% a difference between months. Since Jan I have had 2 cancelled cycles and 3 which managed to get something from. It depends each month how many your body decides to release to start in order for follicles to grow. Some would have more to start and others less. That’s why the clinic did 3 for me plus I have low amh levels. I only ended up with 3 blasts from them all and thankfully 2 are good to use.

Quite normal for this age. Also I was told by a nurse when there are too many eggs due to them ‘sharing’ the stim meds, it’s possible that quality is lower and hence less chance for euploid embryos! I had 3 ivf cycles and indeed the best outcome (with live birth) was the one when I had the lowest number of eggs collected (10 whereas previously 16&13) and blastocysts (only 2 whereas previously 3& 4!) - we tested these 2 and both are normal, one became my 6 months boy. But every body is different so it’s worth discussing with your consultant whether to change protocol next time, which hopefully you won’t need!!

Forgot to say I was 40 in the last cycle so we were very surprised by the 100% euploid rate. In my previous 2 cycles I had 6 transfers, with 3 failed and 3 early miscarriages! We didn’t do PGT though in these cycles so no way to compare notes in this aspect.

At 38 I did 4 rounds in one year, I managed to get 5 euploids across the 4 rounds, ranging from none in my first round to a maximum of 2 in two separate rounds. It felt like I was just rolling dice each time, it’s definitely a numbers game esp at this age.
