If you weren’t planning to already, get used to doing them yourself! It’s intimidating at first, but it made it a lot easier for me to just do it myself!

Give yourself grace! Most days were good but I had some days I was SO moody. I just let myself have all the feels. Also start taking stool softeners a day or two before retrieval. I went almost 7 days without movement & was so uncomfy. Otherwise recovery was easy. Just no cardio for a few weeks.

@Lauren 💫 I am doing them myself but I am having a nurse come over to teach me. Thanks for the comment

@Kay thanks for the advice. Much appreciated

Dr. Said they would write me a letter for medical leave, how many days should I expect, like a week? Or can I request a certain number of days from the Dr. Myself?

I’d suggest using ice cube on the injection site for a few minutes before & after, worked so well for me. And if you are taking any leave ideally the day of egg collection and perhaps a day or two after as well if you have any ohss risk.

@Wanyu thanks for the suggestion

Ice the area you plan to inject! Paincakes on Amazon were super helpful if you still need to get things done while waiting - they stick to your skin. Honestly the subcutaneous injections aren’t bad at all! Intimidating, yes but once you do it a couple of times you’ll be a pro. Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Moving my body helped a lot. Walks outside, yoga etc. you’re going to be bloated and likely moody some days. If you have to do PIO intramuscular injections (progesterone in oil) I highly recommend icing the area and warming up your bottle of progesterone by placing it in your bra. The oil is thick and it can be drawn up easier and injected easier if it’s warm. Massage and heat after is a must to prevent welts and knots! Good luck 🫶🏼

@Heather thanks for the advice. I started my stims injections and they are pretty easy, though I was terrified on the 1st day. I am now just anxious about the trigger shot as the needle is longer and it's intramuscular in the butt and I have to do it myself

@Mary I am currently doing POI in my hip/butt area and have to do it myself quite a bit. It helps to ice the area before, 5-10 min. Using a mirror is really helpful if you have a full length one. I would also do some side stretches before (I know that sounds odd but it helps cause it’s difficult to turn your torso around to comfortably hold the skin taught and the needle) there are lots of YouTube videos that help! I used the cvs ones as a reference. You got this!! If you ice it you likely won’t even feel it! Put on some good music or FaceTime a friend so you have support ❤️ wishing you the best and baby dust!

@Heather thanks for the advice and encouragement! I plan to do FaceTime with my mum for support.
