Hi are you UK based? If so a lot of tests offered are done/can be done based on risk factors. I only had my weight checked at a booking appointment and not since. I only had the GD test due to having one high risk factor (otherwise it would not have been offered it). If you’re not sure you’ve had all the tests you need there is no harm in raising this as a worry with your midwife though ☺️
Don’t worry, not everyone has to have the GD test! Xx
You only get sent for the GTT if you fit certain categories or risk factors. And its normal not to be weighed
Correct me someone if I’m wrong but in uk you don’t do GD test unless you show some symptoms or have high bmi (from what I’ve read on here, I’m in Canada). As for fundal measurement, yea I think it’s been overlooked, as it should be done from second or third trimester. But honestly I think you’re fine if the baby moving well and you’re not showing any symptoms. I’d ensure you got your vaccines so baby has them (whooping cough and others)
That’s so reassuring! I’m UK based. I have low PAPP A and baby is measuring quite small at the minute so I have been having extra growth scans. I was just worried incase I’d missed any important checks but it sounds like I haven’t. Thank you so much ladies! X
Student midwife & second time mum here 🙋♀️ You should only typically have bloods done at 8 week booking appointment and then at 27 weeks for the results to be discussed with you at your 28 week appointment - it seems like there was confusion on who was doing what and that’s why it wasn’t done. Hopefully it has now been done for you? The testing for gestational diabetes is not standard practice and is only offered if you have risk factors for it. Measuring fundal height may start at either 28 or 32 weeks but won’t be offered if you’re having growth scans. Since you’re having obstetrician appointments it sounds like you’re having scans? So that may be why. If you’re not having scans, just query with your midwife or trust if she’ll be taking any measurements at any point. It’s also normal for you to not be weighed - I was weighed at 8 weeks and 12 weeks and never since and it’s not something generally they do
Not sure on the bloods! But GD test Is only done if they deem you high risk for it. Have you had/having any growth scans? Fundal height measurements usually start at your 28 week or 32 week midwife appointment but will not be done if you’re having growth scans. Weight isn’t usually taken unless you’re having growth scans at the antenatal clinic/ hospital, I’ve never had my midwife take my weight apart from at the first booking appointment x
