How old was your kiddo and how long did you host them for?
How much does it really cost?
General safety?
Do they help with household chores and cooking?
We are considering for our 7 month old for 9 months and wanted to learn more.

Thanks! @Paola Does it have to be for minimum 12 months? Can it be for 6 or 9 months? And what happens if there is a bad experience?
You’re welcome. Yes, you can do it for less time. If you have a bad experience you can either change the au pair or leave the program

Hello. I was an au pair. I was in 3 different families. There are good and bad experiences between au pairs and families. Families usually feel happy with au pairs. In one house I took care of 3 children and in the other houses I took care of only one child. The fee you have to pay to the agency is about 10,000 usd annual. you also have to pay 200 usd weekly to the au pair (it is the minimum) you have to provide her food and host her. Having an au pair is safe. The au pair collaborates with household chores related only to children, she is not a housekeeper
