Keep them with you while you do chores. Let them "help" folding laundry. Sit in the next sink while you do dishes and splash in the soapy water. Hang out in the kitchen with safe kitchen utensils as toys. Hang out in the bedroom while you get dressed. Brush teeth together. Lots of ways they can feel included!

If you have to do dishes, give a little one a dry sponge and one of their clean bowls to practice mimicking skills while you do the dishes, that way tot can feel Included in your activity and set the ground work for learning important life skills down the road. If they are a bit older and you’re feeling brave, pull out a step stool and include them in the actual process! Kids love feeling like helpers and they get to do a “grown up” activity! Win win!
