Open ended toys

My little one (16 months on the 18th 😱) is getting a little bored with his toys and I want to get him some open ended play toys that will last a lifetime. He’s got some colourful building blocks, some farm animals and the starting of a play food collection with some cut up vegetables but everything else he has is very closed play or a bit too advanced. For him and he gets frustrated (shape sorter with lots of different shapes). What are your little ones loving lately? We’re planning on getting a kitchen and Duplo for Christmas and don’t want to buy too much.

We got the little people farm and it started her love of imaginary play! We’ve now got the princess castle as well 🤣 it’s cute it sings farm noises but you can turn it off if you want but now she can say all the names of the animals and gives them their food and puts them in the stables she plays with it for a solid hour at a time 😊

@Laura oooh my little one loves farm animals and their noises, he has a few but no-where to house them all. I might look into that.

@Sian honestly it’s the best toy I’ve gotten for her she gets bored of the Montessori stuff quickly but this one I have to take with us to her nans and everything 🤣

My mum bought my daughter a little doll and she loves to feed her with a spoon, brush her hair and sit her in her chair. I'll probably get her a little toy pram for Christmas.

@Jasmine ahh yea, we bought a plushy baby doll for my little one last Christmas, he’s had moments where he’s cuddled the baby, fed him a bottle and put him in his little bed. I might get him a more realistic doll in time.
