As a nursery practitioner, I’d advise you start with an hour and build it up on daily basis, based on how she was the previous day.
I would keep her there long enough to have 1 feed and maybe try for a nap so she can get the chance to get comfortable in the new environment. Just an hour isn't long enough for those 2 things to occur
Have you had any settling in sessions? We had 3 1hr stays before official start date
@Kath did you stay with your child for the hour?
Have they had settling in sessions? They normally do that before they actually start. Think my girl had two and these were a couple of hours. Where I stayed for an hour or so.
1st session I stayed the others I left her, and she was OK she loved nursery from early on
Thanks she did visit the nursery a couple of weeks ago. This morning at drop off the teacher told me to leave her as she was pretty much happy and went off to play. She said she will call me if there is any problem 🥹 I hope I’ve done the right thing
I work in a nursery school and we have our 3 year olds do an hour on the first and second day then build it up by half an hour increases until they are at the full 3 hours.
