Not sure how long you are going and NY has so much going on… Rockerfeller Centre or Empire State… I like that Rockerfeller is more open but Empire State is such an icon. Central Park is massive and will be lovely in the fall. I like the Chelsea market and surrounding areas like Greenwich. Found Statue of Liberty not really worth it but nice to get the view back to Manhattan. Lots of shops and they have a massive toy store FAO Schwarz. I also really like Brooklyn Bridge. Grimaldi’s pizza is where Sinatra used to go. Natural History Museum & MOMA. I think it’s a place you can jam pack lots or just do a few key things and spend the rest of the time walking around & eating/so along it all in. Obviously with a toddler, work with them but also ok to push bedtime later/change the routine up etc. and if on 1 go back to 2 naps if needed. Use daylight to help with jet lag and avoid too much day sleep, probably need to wake them.
Thank you so much! I’ve been a few times before but not for a number of years and without having to think of keeping a toddler happy! Some great recommendations! We’re going for three nights but get 3.5 days once we have landed and got into the city. I haven’t heard of the baby bassinets. I’ll call the airline and see if that is something we can add on!
How exciting! Love New York. We’ve been to Australia & Japan with our girl and a few other closer trips. What time is your flight? Hopefully evening as then would be trying to get little one to sleep as much as possible. Book the bassinet seat, even if day as naps and just a bit more space. For activities, we’ve found the busy board and sticker books really helpful & books. Fidget spinners were ok for us, showed some interest. Walking around the aisles, she loves being nosy and watching others. Just take everything slow too as helps kill time - nappy changes, I’d slowly walk back or spend time with the air hostesses at the back of the plane. And eating food with her… very slowly portioning things out. We don’t do screens yet but assume some would suggest that. Ears can be sore for take off/landing. I used to BF but our last flight she was quite upset on the descent.
