Official welcome!

I’m thrilled to officially welcome you all! I started this group because I will be on the journey of homeschooling my 3-year-old son, and I wanted to create a community of like-minded parents. Here, we can support each other as we navigate the rewarding path of being both parents and teachers. One topic that often comes up when discussing homeschooling is socialization. My hope for the group is that our children forge friendships, build meaningful connections with each other while learning and enjoy their parents interaction and connection while doing so. My vision for our group is to host weekly meetups in fun, cost-free locations like parks and libraries. And don’t worry—when we feel like splurging, we can always treat ourselves to some exciting field trips, even if they come with a fee. The heart of our gatherings will be all about kids coming together to learn and play with a dash of structure. We’ll rotate “lessons” among parents who wish to participate in leading a lesson. Leading a lesson isn’t mandatory—your presence is what truly matters! Lessons could be anything from a lively group dance and a nature walk with “I Spy” to a creative activity like tracing numbers and letters with sidewalk chalk. The purpose of this all is fun and connection between the kids. 🤗

Ah! I love this! We just moved here and decided with my husband’s work schedule and cost of prek to just homeschool our 3 (almost 4 year old). So between being new and her doing homeschooling, I’ve been worried about her not making many friends. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help! 💗

Welcome to Florida! I am eager to plan our first meet up lol do you have any ideas?

You read my mind just before I considered enrolling my 2.5 year old I'm day care. My husband and I were concerned about socialization. 🥰 looking forward to interacting with the group and sharing homeschooling ideas 😊

@Sherise Hi Sherise! So glad to have you here. It was a concern of ours as well. I tried to find homeschool pods around me and couldn't find anything, so I thought I would try and put a group together where we can socialize our kids and incorporate a bit of a group learning environment with a dash of structure where we are there to support them.
