How do y'all get/keep your kids motivated....

My girl is a gifted and honor roll student but she's so uninterested in literally everything....well outside of watching YouTube videos. Open to suggestions, activities, experiences, anything at this point. Or is this just a phase....

Same here! With my son, he just turned 12, he is also an honor student but had to get him interested in other activities, I need to push for it

All of my kids have a bunch of different and shared interests. My 10 year old likes coding so he makes computer games on scratch.mit.edu. All of them like to write so they’ve been writing their own stories. They also play soccer and run track. My youngest daughter did archery for a bit and my oldest girl is really into drama so she co-directed and starred in her school plays. See what extracurricular activities are available at her school and also check for community events. My kids are over museums but we used to go to them all the time.

@Meeka I think I messed up with the school choice...she goes to a magnet school that doesn't really have xtra curricular activities. She's going to middle school next year so hopefully she'll have more options there. She recently got introduced to robotics and I've been encouraging that...I'll check out that coding site.

@Kaysia my son did robotics. They also have homeschool groups that do it too so you could also check there. Yeah I get it; my kids were in a magnet school until they got into the gifted program and had to switch schools. Middle school definitely does open up a lot of doors for activities. Do they have a morning show at the school? My girls did that and SCA in elementary and middle school.

My son is also gifted. If he could he would waste away in that iPad lol. I force him to read 30 mins a day. He has soccer and robotics. He recently signed up for safety patrol.

@Meeka no morning show. Not sure what SCA is. @Reese My girl is a safety patrol this year so yea I guess that's something lol
