Not in a minibus no, library yes, but unless she could rear face in the mini bus safely/correctly or I could drop her off, no
I think it's a great idea, not many nurseries do trips out.
Yes, my daughter went on an outing last Christmas. They were above ratio, 2 staff took 3/4 children. They took them in double prams on the bus into the local town to look at the Christmas lights and displays etc. they sent pictures and looked like they all had a lovely time. That being said, you have to do what makes you feel comfortable. I felt anxious but ultimately knew my daughter would love it so I pushed through. You aren’t being dramatic but as previously said perhaps speaking to the staff about their exact plans will put your mind at rest
Ours have done trips out to the local park and to see the horses, in big buggies. We rear face so I'd be a bit worried about minibus but aside from that would feel OK I think. Could you ask to see or learn about their risk assessments to ensure all issues are manageable/planned for?
My son's nursery take them out for walks and trips. They've been to the little woods and the library but all within walking distance with weird reigns for big groups of kids. They have our permission to take him on any outting as he loves it and I would feel so sad for him bring left behind whilst his friends went out x
I'd 100% be happy for my little one to go to the library if it was on foot. But absolutely no way would I allow her on a minibus. They wouldn't have rear-facing seats, and its just not worth the risk.
Yes I would. I think its lovely to get them out of the nursery setting. Have you discussed with your child's keyworker? Maybe they can help ease your anxieties xx
