I’ve been in a car accident and got it right in the passenger side where I was sitting and baby was okay. However you should alway go to the ER to get checked just to be safe even if you don’t think anything happened it’s always better to be safe than sorry
I rear ended someone when I was 6 months pregnant, totally fine!
I would recommend going to the ER. I’ve been rear ended by someone while pregnant & my OB recommended going to the ER for fetal monitoring. More than likely your baby is okay, but it’s better to be safe. I got released after a couple of hours of monitoring in L&D (the nurses there estimated it to be a 4 hour visit & I was discharged after 2) & had the adverse party pay for the bill
@Chelsea the accident happened like 90 mins ago. We just got to the ER and they brought us to labor and delivery right now to jsut get checked out. I’m thinking everything is ok but i won’t be able to relax until checked
@Christine ok good you did the right thing for you and your baby! You got this love everything is gonna be fine your in the right place and they'll take really good care of yall ❤️ just try to remember to breathe and stay strong it's gonna be ok. I'm sending yall good thoughts and lots of hugs!
Seems like he’s ok, he’s moving a ton, which is great!!! But I was having contractions they said (wasn’t feeling them at all) so they wanted to just check my cervix for dilation. (I declined it last appt because I didn’t want to get upset and in my own head about it, I didn’t want to hear I was only 1 cm because that is what I figured I was). Well now I’m even more upset… they checked and said I was completely closed 😭 like i swear everyone I swear in my due date group is sitting at like a 1-3 when they get checked. i just assumed I was at least 1-2 cm since this is my second baby. Now I’m worried i won’t go into labor this week :/ i was really hoping i would before my induction
@Christine awww great that's fantastic! I'm so glad yall are ok! Yay baby! Oh wow yeah that's scary! Right I understand I was induced 2 weeks early with my son because he just wasn't growing enough in my womb. Oh no I'm so sorry ☹️ I know it's disappointing and not how you planned for it or wanted it to go, but it's so important for you and the baby to come into this world healthy. I know it doesn't make it better or easier but I've learned everything really does happen for a reason and when it's supposed to. And who knows stranger things have happened you could go into labor at anytime whenever that baby says it's go time. So just try to focus right now on this victory and that yall are ok and don't worry your little one will be here before you know it!
I got hit and the person was going like 15mph very little damage. No air bags or anything. My OB said if I’m not bleeding or cramping (I wasn’t) then I would be good. I was 22-23 weeks I think at the time. At 38 weeks I would probably go in to just double check though
@Bri that’s good!!! That’s basically what ours was - little damage. More damage to his car than mine (thank god lol). Yeah I ended up getting monitored for like 2.5 hours and everything was fine so they sent me home!!
I got into an accident in the pouring rain on the express lane at 37 weeks pregnant, airbag deployed. Thank god I braced myself before it happened so the airbag didn’t touch me. My lower stomach was bruised though and went away shortly before my delivery date.. went to ER via ambulance just to be safe and get baby checked out. We were both 100% fine and I had a healthy happy baby girl on June 25 🩷
@Sarah oh wow I’m so glad everything was ok!!! I did go get checked! Seems like everything is ok but of course it’s still stressful!
@Christine yesss it was def stressful they had to tow my truck since I went via ambulance to the ER it was a nightmare I spent the next month driving it with no seatbelt and no airbag either until I finally got it fixed after I gave birth lol they monitored me I think for 4 hours and then I was discharged.. they also told me I had a contraction but didn’t feel it and they said it was normal at 37 weeks.. didn’t do any cervical checks or anything.. try not to stress too much thank god you and baby are ok!!
I did, I was early on though and only my husband and I knew I was pregnant. I did end up bleeding that night and went to the hospital. Baby was totally fine though. It was probably stress and they did give me a rhogam shot. He ended up have pos. Blood type and I'm A-, so they could have also cause the bleeding. Your baby is probably 100% okay. But call your doctor if you haven't already. I got in big trouble when I told them at my appointment. (It was the next day so I thought it was fine)
WELL MY WATER BROKE THIS MORNING 🙃
My parents were both EMTS and Firefighters/Mom was also a nurse as well until she and my dad retired, so I kinda have a little bit of knowledge on car accidents. We're you ever checked out by EMTS or go to the hospital? How long ago did the accident happen? There is a chance the baby could have been slightly bounced around but our bodies are so amazing it's like we're a cocoon of safety for our little ones. I know that probably sounds weird lol but as sad as it is to say I have met a few woman who have been in abusive relationships and unfortunately been hit or kicked in their bellies 🤬 makes me so freaking mad just thinking about it, but the babies are just fine. They are so resilient and so strong. I wouldn't worry really but if it's truly upsetting you it never ever hurts to go get checked out 😊 I hope this helped some! Good luck momma 🤍
