It’s completely safe and harmless. It’s a small swab that goes a few inches into the vagina, then about an inch into the rectum. Most doctors will actually let you do the swab yourself if you prefer. It’s important to get this done though as if you are positive for GBS, you will need antibiotics while in labour to protect babe from contracting it as well
I just had mine yesterday. Super important to get done to keep babe safe during labour and delivery. It doesn’t hurt or induce pain, just feels uncomfortable
Just had mine done 30 minutes ago and I felt nothing. No pain, no discomfort.
Great thanks all of you..I was worried..going for mine today❤️
I done my test today … how many days it will take to get the report
@Nikki you'll probably find out at your next OB appointment
Okay … thank you
Hey guys I have pain and swelling in my right hand..? What to do? @Karol @Raina @Alicia @Kalene
@Snj Keep an eye on it, severe swelling in arms, face or legs can be sign of preeclampsia. If it’s really bad go to hospital, if it’s manageable call your doctor/Ob/midwife tomorrow
@Raina thanks I call tomorrow
Are you talking about the swab they do? If so then yeah it's safe, shouldn't induce pain at all.. some people find it uncomfortable but that's it..
