Are you currently pregnant/breastfeeding and that’s why you are avoiding meds? Or just don’t want to take them?

@Cheyenne I’m 4 months postpartum & not breastfeeding. My issue with medication is I will always look up the side effects and then once I take the medication I will start to think about everything that could go wrong and that sends me into a panic attack. I want to try to manage it before I go on medication

Hi! Funny thing, I am a therapist and I also struggle with anxiety and panic. I am 2 months ppl. I don’t want to give advice because we are all different but for me, seeing a psychiatrist helped and I did need medication which helped SO MUCH. I understand your overthinking with the side effects cause I used to be like that too but ultimately i did some breathing exercises while taking the medication and then kept myself busy. Once i realized the first time i took it that i didn’t get any side effects i knew that it was safe for me to take it and now i dont even think about it i just take it! I also bought different books on panic and anxiety disorders. I know a lot about it obviously but reading about it and taking notes helped me understand the issue better and helped me cope with it. I would say if medication is still not an option for you, breathing exercises are just amazing when you know how to do them right (look online and youtube there’s amazing resources!).

Support groups are also a great option. You can even find free ones :)

I’m sending you all my strength and congrats on your little one. You’ll get better! ❤️
