Curious what worked for you

Did you do a transfer with a tested or untested embryo? Did it work or not? Please just people 35 and under for their very first round. Feel free to leave a comment about your experience

Tested worked on 3rd try

I was 29 he was 31, first round, 13 eggs fertilized ended up with 3 day 5 embryos, all untested, one 5AA put back as a frozen transfer, worked first time

3rd transfer and 4th embryo (one was a double transfer) to finally get my daughter. My first cycle didn’t go great, only 2 poor quality embryos. My second cycle the fresh transfer worked but resulted in a miscarriage.

@Danielle I am so sorry for your loss Happy to hear that you have your little rainbow baby girl now 🌈

I was 28 when my eggs were retrieved. Based on my age, egg quality, and number of blasts, I opted not to test. First transfer was a success and I’ll be 30 weeks on Wednesday!

What grade was your successful Embryo?

4aa :)

Here is an excrement article on the grading https://www.sensiblesurrogacy.com/quality-grade-of-embryos/

Started ivf when I was 33. Have been pursuing an embryo banking strategy to boost chances of having 2 or 3 kids. First egg retrieval August 2022 (when I was 33) got 6 blasts, not tested first and second transfer failed (5AA and 4AA embryos). First transfer was a fresh transfer and the second was a medicated FET Second egg retrieval March 2023 (when I was 34) got 3 blasts sent for pgt testing with the remaining 4 embryos from round one. Out of the 7 I had 4 euploid embryos. Transfers 3 and 4 (both 4BA embryos) resulted in a chemical and a missed miscarriage. 3rd transfer was a medicated FET and 4th was a modified natural FET 3rd egg retrieval in December 2023 (10 days after my 35th birthday) got 5 blasts, sent for testing and 4 were euploid. Currently 38 weeks pregnant after the 5th transfer (5AA euploid embryo and modified natural FET) In between retrievals and transfers I did multiple tests for uterine receptivity and immune issues and all came back clear

@A.R. Thanks for sharing, that's insightful. Do you ever found out, or deduced why the earlier transfers of the euploid embryos fail? Especially as you also did the other tests and they all came back clear. I'm really nervous now as we only have 1 euploid 5AB to transfer and had two other losses from trying naturally .

@A.R. Thank you for sharing and congratulations🤰 So you thawed your 4 untested embryos for pgt-a testing? Were there any complications with that? Didn’t survive thawing or grading change? Were most of the ones which were already frozen euploid or were the fresh ones euploid?

@Sabrina no I never got a reason for the previous failures. It baffled my doctor to be honest because every test came up clear and she did every test that seemed reasonable or relevant to our circumstances (ERA/EMMa/Alice, NK cell, SIS scan and some blood work for repeated miscarriage I can’t remember what exactly that test was) I think I may have just had some really bad luck. But we did figure out that the natural fet protocol suited my body better than the medicated fet so maybe there was something in that? I’m sorry to hear about your losses and hoping your 5AB is your rainbow baby xxx

Yes we thawed and tested the 4 embryos from our first retrieval. All survived the thawing/testing and 2 of the 4 were euploid (and 2 of the 3 from the fresh cycle were euploid) I obviously had to sign relevant consent forms etc and clinic informed us of the risks associated with thawing and testing but they were also pretty confident that they could do it and the clinics survival rates were better than average so I was happy to trust them to go ahead
