We have also been using carobel which seems to be working really well! You can buy it over the counter in pharmacies, it’s about £5 a box but the box lasts quite a long time
We couldn’t get on with carobel so have stuck with gaviscon, which does however bag them up so we’ve had some unhappy days when he’s been constipated and unsettled cause of that. Hoping he grows out of the reflux soon
We’ve just been prescribed Gaviscon today, i’m praying it works as my little boy is so upset and unsettled a lot of the time. Hoping it doesn’t cause constipation too!
@Emily hi! What drops have you used? We have just started carobel and feel the same about the gas! Also my little one is having really upset stomachs with it, which is hard because it’s really helped her silent reflux! Feel like you can’t win sometimes
@Olivia we were using dentinox but my little one really hates the flavour of it so have swapped to infacol. Oh I know, feels like you fix one thing and create another problem! It is hard to know what to do for the best sometimes!
@Emily we tried infacol it worked for a few days however because of the orange flavour apparently it is worse for the reflux as it’s acidy! We are now on gripe water but don’t feel it is having much effect!
@Olivia I had seen about the orange flavour not being good for reflux but we thought maybe with the carobel it would offset its effect on reflux! It’s a catch 22. We have tried gripe water too but it has the same flavour as dentinox and I tried so many different ways to give it him but every way he just spits it out!
We’ve been using carobel which thickens his milk! My little one suffers from silent reflux. It has been working well but does make him more gassy so have been using gas drops with it too.
