Norethisterone for inducing a period

I had to take it for 14 days then once I stopped I had a bleed around 4 - 5 days afterwards

Omg 14 days?! That's so long. Everywhere I read it says it should come after the 5 days and the doctor only prescribed me 5 days. I'm just worried that because my body is so used to not having one it just won't come 😏

Hello :) Interested as to if it showed up for you and how long it took? I finished my 5 days yesterday and am wondering how long it will take to bring on a bleed x

I finished taking it on the 20th and my period came on the 24th, like half way through the day. I then took letrazole and now waiting to see if I ovulate! On cd14 and nothing yet 😬

Oh amazing! Fingers crossed for you :) I’ll be trying letrozole too once it arrives so let me know how you get on. I’ve heard good things!!

Oh and also I’ve heard of lots of people ovulating on days 16-20 so don’t lose hope! :)

Hey.. just wondering how the letrozole worked for you? The 2.5mg didn’t work for me, and neither did the 5mg so we are trying 7.5mg next cycle before having to discuss other options if that doesn’t work :/ I’m trying to keep optimistic that this dose might work for us!

@Beth hi, it didn't work for me, I didn't ovulate with it. Not even slightly lol. I've changed to clomid 100mg and I've just had a positive lh on that yesterday so this obviously works better for me and hopefully allows me to get pregnant 🤞🏻

Hello. Sorry to hear that, but glad to hear the clomid seems to be working for you 🤞🏼 I’ve had no response at all to either of the first doses so I’m waiting to see if 7.5mg does the trick or not. It’s good to know that if it doesn’t then maybe clomid will get things moving. Good luck!

@Beth good luck with the higher dose! I've heard good things about 7.5mg, but definitely request to try clomid if it doesn't work. Thanks, I'm just waiting a week now and then going to test my progesterone levels to see if ovulation can be confirmed 🤞🏻

@Katieoh really!? That’s good to know. I’m keeping everything crossed, I don’t think I’ve ever ovulated in my life! Ha. Good luck with the progesterone test, I hope it confirms ovulation for you and you have a good few months ahead of the clomid option 🤞🏼
