IVF and cyclogest

Anyone done IvF and on cyclogest pessaries? I’ve been told to stop them at end of week 8 (in a couple of days) but everywhere I read says longer. I asked my doctor to confirm and she just keeps saying end of week 8 but it feels too soon. Anyone else had this? X

I’m on the same pessaries but I conceived naturally however I have to take them until week 16 I would have thought it would have been the same? X

I stoped at end of week 7. I had a modified cycle so only the trigger shot. The doctor said I am producing all the progesterone I needed naturally. It’s a week since I stopped and all is well. The advice to go on longer is for fully medicated cycles and/or recurring miscarriages. From what I read going to 8 weeks is just for good measure past the 7 weeks. I was also scared to go off and contacted my clinic again but I was reassured and told if I wanted to continue for a bit I could but it wouldn’t make a difference. I stopped and after 2 days I didn’t think about it anymore.

@Allison thank you that’s so so helpful! I have been really worried! Xx

@Steph I totally get it. I felt the same and googling doesn’t help because the protocols discussed are for fully medicated cycles. If you’re going 8 weeks you’re good. The placenta starts to kick in and slowly starts to produce all the horemones you need :)

@Allison thank you. Yeh I still have another box of pessaries left so I might do an extra week of 1 a day (currently 2 a day) just for my own sanity just in case 😂 x

Hi , can I ask did you put cyclogest vaginally or rectum please?
