success with meriofert and/ or estrogen priming?

hi all. after a failed first cycle (300iu ovaleap, poor response) my consultant has prescribed 450iu of meriofert for round two. i’ve also asked to try estrogen priming, and although he’s agreed to prescribe this, he says there is little evidence it works! does anyone have experience of either or both of these treatments? thank you very much x

I took Meriofert in my second round (after a bad first round, using Gonal F, with lots of follicles but poor quality eggs so nothing made it to blastocyst). I had daily injections of both Meriofert and Ganirelix. It made a difference, I had 1 make it to blastocyst that was a good enough grade to transfer and am currently 14 weeks. The others that made it to blastocyst were poor grading so not suitable to freeze but definitely an improvement on round 1! Highly recommend the book ‘it all starts with the egg’ - I learnt soooo much about what to take and do before my second round of IVF too!

My protocol was Meriofert and Ovaleap (150iu each, I think). I ended with 3 blastocysts (I'm 39, unexplained infertility).

I had low fertilization rates on meriofort first time but upped my dosage on the same medication and added estrogen priming for the second cycle. Got 3 good quality blastocysts. Good luck🤞

thanks very much for your responses all. my consultant was VERY neutral about the new protocol… ‘it might improve things, it might not’, which doesn’t fill me with hope! it starts with the egg has been helpful- i upped my coq10 dosage as a result of reading, and started melatonin. my consultant has also said taking dhea would do no harm but that this has more impact if started 3 months in advance, and i’m not sure we want to wait that long for our next round. x
