Working From Home Moms - How do you do it?!

My maternity leave is almost up and I will go back to work and will be working from home with my 4 month old. Wondering if any other moms out there have gone back to work and are also working from home? How do you do it and any tips or advice when it comes to doing both at once? Hoping I can handle it but not sure what to expect. I’m thinking I’ll just have my email on my phone and laptop with me while I entertain baby. Any words of wisdom or advice is appreciated! Oh please note that and I work in accounting and marketing. Will have a desktop and laptop handy for quickbooks and other websites needed. Thanks!

I work from home with my four month old and 3 year old it can be a challenge but I try to get the bulk of work done during naps. I also don't know how flexible your job is but mine can be pretty flexible so I can also get work done after my partner gets home. If you have a bouncer with a toy bar that can entertain them, or an activity seat, also sometimes I just work on the floor with my laptop next to him and as long as I'm down there he just happily rolls around and chews on toys lol.

@Sara this is super helpful info, thank you! I’ll look into a toy bar too!

I wfh and returned to work for a week now and my job isn’t very flexible and actually pretty intense so I have my mom care for baby while I’m at work. If my mom is not around to help I’d probably hire a nanny while I work. Sorry I don’t think this is what you’re looking for. But maybe worth a shot to hire nanny for some critical hours you need to focus on your work

I started back at work last week, and honestly, it hasn’t been easy. My mornings are packed with calls and meetings since my entire team is on the East Coast, so I try to get as much done as possible between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. I’ve hired a part-time nanny because I need to stay engaged on calls and can’t always be with the baby. I’m just really grateful to be working from home!

@Winnie so glad you working from home but sorry you work is so demanding of your time! Your lucky to have your mom help with baby while your at work! My mom is unfortunately is not helpful like yours. Appreciate your POV and I commend you on your hard work while being home with baby. I know that can’t be easy especially when you want to be with baby <3 @Puja thank you for your message and experience! That’s gotta be tough working on an opposite coast schedule!!! Def understand you having to get a nanny when needing to do that. Luckily my boss also just had a baby and is very flexible with my work and I don’t have to be on calls except for when it’s my boss which I usually schedule for. Appreciate both of your hard work and experiences 🥰🙏🏻💕

I work from home and it's not as easy as I was expecting. Right now I'm really struggling with mom guilt. By the time the evening comes around I feel bad for not doing as much as I do some days with him 😕
