Mediator career

Is anyone here a mediator? I’m thinking of getting into this career but want to speak to someone who’s already in it first

I've been thinking the same. I have experience in divorce coaching and high conflict behavior but the training is always fully booked! So must be a popular thing to do which makes me nervous about the market being swamped. Just mho I think I'd be great though!

Also the portfolio is much more intensive to do and takes anywhere between 12m-24m to complete so you can't really make money from it quickly, as you have to go through getting the portfolio experience before you can fully qualify

@Kelly-Lou I was thinking of doing a postgrad in mediation first, I have a law degree but I just wouldn’t know where to go from the postgrad course, and really? I didn’t know the courses were fully booked I don’t want to qualify then not be able to get a job, I currently work for an ombudsman

The divorce coach in work for is an ex solicitor, ex mediator so I have a lot of research and real world info about it! I didn't know you could do a post grade. Usually it 4m -6m course and the time to build the portfolio :) There are a few providers that are approved and authorized by the mediation counsel. Feel free to DM if you want to! Although I may not be able to help much more :)
