Hey! My son was born the same day !! He is also with high bili levels. How high are yours and what are they doing.? They just want me to repeat it tomorrow but with exclusively breastfeeding idk if I should start formula to help lower it ?

It went up to 19 Sunday so we had to admit her back on the labor and delivery floor it has came down since yesterday. It’s at a 8 and they wanna get it under 7, but they keeping her under the light and until the morning. At 1st they had 3 lights on her now it’s just two.

That’s interesting. Yesterday my son’s level was also 19 but the pediatrician said nothing to worry about in the moment. Recommended to just repeat it today and make sure it doesn’t increase any more.

@Val that’s crazy they told me my baby was 1 level from being shipped to another hospital. That’s bad when it get that high. They pose to put the babies under a bili light so that the levels come down and they pose to keep checking every couple hrs until it drop under 7.

@Val basically feeding your baby more every 2 instead of 3 hrs will help as the baby keep pooping it all out too.

I repeated it today and it went down to 17. I was seen by another doctor and was also told the same thing. Just to continue waking him up to feed and they will repeat again in 2 days

Oh ok so you didn’t have to stay in the hospital? I know different states are different with everything.

No. They discharged me and I’ve been following up with the pediatrician. I have an appt today to repeat it once again. Let’s see how it goes

Oh wow, a lot of hospitals different, hopefully it goes down fast, they suppose to put baby under the light tho when it’s that high.

It went down to 13 now. So they not repeating it anymore. They said it would have spiked by now. So just continue to feed and monitor.

That’s good then, I’m doing the same thing.
