28+4, also anterior placenta and first pregnancy. Currently at the Dr's for a regular check up, but they are sending me up for a scan due to changes in movements that I've noticed. A bit sad about the loooong waiting times, but there's nothing I can do about that except be patient.
I also have an anterior placenta and I’ve been really lucky to feel a lot. Not sure if it’s just with it being my second or if it’s where the placenta is actually sitting. Movements however, don’t get an actual pattern until around 27/28 weeks but if you’re feeling movement different to what it normally is then you would be best to go get checked. In my trust once you’ve had 3 episodes of reduced movement they send you for a scan and if it continues then you would be offered early induction x
I’m 23 + 6 with anterior placenta and have only just started feeling movements at all. Some days I don’t feel anything and then some I feel a couple of movements. I don’t know how much I should be feeling or when to worry if I don’t.
Think there could definitely be quite a difference in 1st and 2nd pregnancies on this as this is my second pregnancy but first anterior and I would almost say I feel more movements that in my last pregnancy but they’re in different places eg lower down and at the sides- basically where the placenta isn’t sitting I guess. You know your body so I think it’s important to contact your unit if you’re concerned- they’re there to provide reassurance and you are also now responsible for two patients which is a big deal! As said above usual time you should feel regular movement by is 27/28 weeks so you may find it ramps up in the next week or so
@Jasmine how did you get on with your scan jasmine? Xx
Yesterday was a heartbeat monitoring (I don't remember the proper name), all seems well. Having an ultrasound tomorrow to estimate baby's size, because it seems to be in a transverse position (lying sideways)
@Jasmine ah that's good! The fetal doppler :) hope all goes well today! I felt some movement yesterday but not a lot so trying to be more aware today and if I'm concerned i will contact the midwives :) I hate burdening for no reason though as I feel all I do is call haha xx
I got gently scolded yesterday because I first noticed the changes 3 weeks ago (from "kicks all over the place, no pattern" to "there seems to be a pattern now, but also less force") I can relate to not wanting to take up resources that might be needed more urgently by someone else, but going forward, I'd rather be overly careful then not. Need to make sure that all is well. I don't want to scare other mom's to be, all seems to be well with my little one, but I've promised myself to call triage if I notice any kind of changes again.
@Jasmine awk I know. You'd think being an nhs worker myself I'd be looking after myself better. I just feel I don't necessarily have a routine or pattern yet and there's days where she kicks or moves and it's evident and then there's days I feel nothing. I was made to go to triage instead of my midwife clinic for a check where all she done was pkp the doppler on my belly and goes "there she is, your fine" and I wasted 3 hours off work for a 2 second fetal heart check. They mentioned nothing about the fact I didn't have any movements overnight or during that day. So I feel like it's the same situation and my work will only come and go with me so far as I'm a lone worker doing community visits and it's hard to cover my list for the day if I have to leave x
I'm the same as you about ringing. I have an anterior placenta and when I went with concerns r.e reduced movements/not as strong, they just listened to the heartbeat and felt where the baby was. Because he was laying in be middle of my belly (likely behind my placenta) they were worried. Some days I can physically see my belly moving and my Husband can feel it if the babies feet are over to the side a bit but then other days I only feel really light thuds in the lower part of my belly! I can only presume it's because of the anterior placenta but when they say we need to notice a pattern it's a lot of pressure when we don't have a pattern yet 😭
I’m 27 weeks now with an anterior placenta as well! Some days I don’t feel any movement at all then lots on others days so definitely still no pattern yet xx
