Help me out here? Thank you!

I'm currently in Ga... But I have thought about Nevada? Thoughts on that? Like how is it out there? How are the schools? What parts do you suggest? Or should I just stay in Ga lol

I cannot compare NV to GA, since I've only lived in Las Vegas since I moved here from Germany in 2018. It has good and bad parts. The good parts are Summerlin, Southern Highlands, Centennial and Henderson. Schools are terrible in my opinion. Nationwide it's tanked in the worst 5. My son is going to Kindergarten next year. I'm struggling to find a good school. Definitely not wanting him to go to a public school. But even Charter and Magnet schools do not have very good ratings. The cost of living is getting super expensive too. Coming from Europe, I would say Las Vegas is definitely not a good place to raise children and the schools suck. I wish my husband would be open to move back to Germany with me and the kids.

@Irina thank you so much! See the school district my kids are in is Gwinnett county.. and they are known to be a very good school district.. and with 1 of my kids having autism, he gets help out here .. I was interested in NV because the homes are beautiful and not too pricey from what I've seen.. you guys should try Ga 😊.. Gwinnett is good.. but is becoming a little pricey.. but the schools are great

Las Vegas is definitely not a good place for families and if your son has autism it can be tough to get the care he needs. My niece has autism and the waiting time for the doctors is crazy Schools are really not good. They’re missing a lot of teachers, therefore the quality is going down even more Houses are also getting more and more expensive and all the new houses look the same 😅 And if you want to have your kids entertained during summer be prepared to spend a lot of money 🥴

I've lived in both southern and northern Nevada and they are very different. The range of towns in Nevada is very broad, there are tiny towns of only a couple hundred people and then there are metro areas like Las Vegas and Reno. Reno is where I am now. It is nice because it has all the amenities of a big city but doesn't feel as big as Vegas. Plus Lake Tahoe is about 45 minutes away, along with other lakes and mountain areas to explore. However the cost of living is definitely on the high end in Reno. It's coming down a little bit but some areas are still 500k+ for a 3 bedroom house. And the population is increasing a lot too, which is good and bad. My son isn't in school yet but there are definitely good schools and crappy ones in all systems (public, private, etc.) From what I've heard from friends who have kids in the school system. It really depends on what part of town you're in.

Also my son is on the spectrum as well and the Nevada Early Intervention system in Reno has been fantastic. And there are a lot of resources in both Reno and Carson City for kids with autism both in school and in the community.

@Helen thank you sooo much!! For your information ☺️
