Awww congrats! I had a C-section last week and was so nervous! The theatre staff are absolutely amazing honestly it was such a great experience because of them. Tips: don’t compare your recovery to anyone else’s, don’t listen to others stories of how long it took and when the worst day was etc, get up and about as soon as you feel you can from the spinal block, the trapped gas is awful so get some peppermint capsules I wish someone told me this as it’s supposed to really help, also get something like lactulose for when you’re home. They provide it in hospital when you stay but you’ll still be bunged up once home and trying to go isn’t easy if straining, take pain killers when due even if you aren’t in pain. Lastly, enjoy it! Trust me you’ll be fine and they’re worth it all xxx
I ended up with an emergency C section after finding out my baby was Breech at the last minute and getting to 5 cm with contractions. I was deffo a bit worried about having to make the decision to have a C section rapidly and I was worried about the spinal block but the anesthestist came and talked me through it and I felt a little more relaxed and then I was in the surgery within 20 minutes and Baby Ronnie born within 45 mins. The staff were amazing and talk to you the whole time. Not going to lie it wasn't the experience I ever thought I would have regardless of being aware plans don't go to plan , a c section was not in my mind which has took me a little while to get over but I'm glad I actually did get to go through some labour. Don't be shy at pressing your buzzer for help when on the ward and don't be shy at making conversation with other mums in the ward if you can and have your curtains open if your happy. I felt a bit isolated with the curtains round x
Congratulations to you all. Hope you are all recovering well and babies too 🤗 I will take on all advice and tips, it’s greatly appreciated. 😊 thank you 😊
Best of luck it’s so exciting! I had my c section(for my breech baby) almost 2 weeks ago. I won’t lie I was very nervous when they brought me down for the surgery (was fine up til then) but it really was fine and so quick! I don’t really have any tips just maybe have a book or a show downloaded to watch as the wait beforehand can be quite long. I was checked in at 9am but wasn’t brought down til the afternoon
