I have taken propranolol for anxiety for years before getting pregnant. Midwives and docs happy for me to take in pregnancy- just offering growth scans later on. It's about a informed choice and weighing up pros and cons of taking or not. For me , I do try and take it less but with heightened anxiety with pregnancy too it's honestly been a lifesaver
@Hannah citalopram, I’m pregnant and I’m the leaflet there’s loads of side effects and I’m debating whether to just try and cope without it as it’s making me more anxious to try it, I was on sertraline before and I got all of the bad side effects so this isn’t helping me either xx
You shouldn’t have many side affects with Citalopram, it’s given out to people so often and it’s usually the first one doctors like to try, so very common! Definitely try this. We want you to be feeling happy and healthy during pregnancy. I also have a pregnant lady that takes Citalopram so I know it’s absolutely fine! X
@Hannah I’ve heard mixed things which worries me and there’s a lot of side effects for baby too which are only a small chance but still worrying me x
Maybe have a word with midwife instead of gp and see if they can reassure you… if you’re still too worried then you might think it’s better off not taking it and to have the side affects, just bare in mind you want to have your mental health in a good way as pregnancy really tests you some times x
What have they given you ? I’m a pharmacy manager I can help x
