North tees/James cook

Hiya everyone, was just wondering if people in the Stockton on tees area are willing to share witch hospital they used for there midwifery services ( James cook or North Tees) and what there experience was as I’ve heard mixed things about both due to working within the hospitals my self, was wanting to know how people felt they were treat, and how they found there pregnancy and birthing experiences. Thankyou 🫶🏻x

I currently have a midwife in Stockton and any additional tests I have to go to north tees for but I have my scans and appointments at James Cooke which is where I will be giving birth currently 24 weeks and so far so good x

Midwife is at Stockton, scans ect I goto James cook that’s were I will be giving birth! They were brilliant with my first so going there with my second! Xx

I gave birth at North Tees. The midwife stayed in the room with me the whole time. I loved it x

I gave birth at north tees in may this year and thought care was fab - I was induced and never had any issues only thing I could think of is the fact the staffing levels which meant you were waiting for a while for normal checks. They were all fab in labour and had an amazing birth experience, they let me listen to my body when I needed to push etc they had no doubts it was a fab experience the midwife’s were all so lovely and calm I felt at ease all the way through. I only seem to have an issue with postnatal ward at north tees for the second time. i had a straight forward birth but they obviously do a baby check before they discharge you and they were so understaffed I didn’t end up leaving until 30 hours after I had my little one but I completely understand it’s not their fault xx

I had a very positive experience at North Tees last year. After an emergency cesarian with my first followed by a loss I found that the staff were more than happy to answer all my overly anxious questions to help out my mind at ease. The staff were all very friendly and polite during my appointments, the staff on the wards were all fantastic as well. You should be able to book in to go for a look around both which might help you make your mind up. X

I give birth at james cook, had all scans there. The staff in general were really nice. Although I requested a c section, they never bothered arranging this when they told me it was sorted. I was then induced and the daytime midwives were lovely. When the staff changed, the night time midwife I had treated me quite awful x

With my first I didn’t really have a good experience if I’m honest but I had my scans at hartlepool and had him at north tees. Now my second was a better experience, although post natal ward they aren’t very good with communication (my little boy was in special care) although the special care team where amazing, and my boys been admitted twice to children’s ward and they have been lovely but I suppose that’s not the same as what your asking haha x

Midwife was at north tees an me delivered - emergency c section and I cannot fault anything I was well looked after from going in and to leaving, given advice even when I asked silly questions x

I used north tees midwives but gave birth at James cook. The midwives were fine until I told them I was going to be giving birth at James cook and then they changed. I put a formal complaint in about them and the staff at James cook told me that they get loads of complaints about the same thing

I live in billingham and I had all my appointments and gave birth at James cook… they were brilliant! I looked round both and I preferred the wards at James cook. Only negative I personally would say about James cook is they don’t have a water birth option if that’s something you’re after x
