hard poops

My son is 6.5 months been weaning just over a month now and he’s doing really well with a mixture of purées and BLW. He’s pooping most days but only getting a little lump of hard poop each time, he’s not uncomfortable and I wouldn’t say he’s constipated but I thought his poops would be abit bigger/looser since he’s having pears or prunes daily and 5-7oz of water each day too. Once a week he’ll do a massive sloppy poop but inbetween it’s just these lil nuggets??? 🤣

What's your question hun? If it's what to do prune juice or prunes is good to give and high fibre foods too to make softer stools.

@Samina im not sure tbh 😂 I suppose If it’s okay/normal for them to have harder poops even when they are having 7oz water and high fibre foods x

It is a sign of constipation if it’s like solid poop. I’d offer some more foods with fibre but if he doesn’t seem like he’s struggling and from what you’ve said it sounds like he’s taking water good and prunes 🤷‍♀️ is he still having lots of milk?x

@Amy I thought this but his tummy is soft, doesn’t seem in pain when he goes but he does grunt to get it out. He does have a lot of fibre but I’ll look into some other things I can give him. Yeah he’s still taking around 1000ml of formula a day then water on top of that x

I'd check with your health visitor in case if it's not constipation it may be something else. Although he has a soft abdomen
