Mine was great. I healed well. Scar is minimal. Baby was generally fine. I did throw up while being cut open lol but even with that little complication, everything went well. Its over before you know it. The only rough bit is when they say you're going to feel some pressure. The pressure is INTENSE but it too passes quickly - just don't panic :) you'll do great. A planned one is even better.
@Tara the midwives told me it’s going to feel like someone’s doing washing up really angrily in your stomach, they weren’t wrong 🤣
I had a great straight forward pregnancy but my labour didn’t progress so ended in an emergency c section, I was prepared for most things apart from having a c section but it was actually not too bad. The procedure itself was a bit tough for me personally but that was after labouring for nearly 2 days. The recovery was not bad at all, I showered two days after and walking after a week.
It’s weird that you can feel touch but not pain. I had a weird reaction to the spinal that made me sick but otherwise it was a great experience, they even dropped the drape and I got to see her come into the world without seeing the wound and it was so special!
I'm 2 weeks pp from an emergency section and my recovery has been a million times easier than I anticipated. The only pain relief I needed was Tylenol/Ibuprofen right after surgery and I'm not even taking it regularly anymore. My incision is not painful at all, the most pain I have is a slight tugging sensation from where my internal stitches are tied off and that's only if I move too quickly/in a not ergonomic way.
mine was great! i got a general and still walked 2 hours later (be sure to walk when you can as it helps with healing SO much) and went for a wee not long after they took my catheter out. Personally with a general, things felt a bit foggy for 2 weeks afterwards but all in all, i recovered really well and wouldn’t have it any other way. I also barely lost any blood and was only there for one night. Everything was very relaxed and the hospital looks after you really well. With a general, it meant i wasn’t awake during the birth but i woke up not long afterwards and felt generally ok. A bit foggy from being asleep and minimal pain but honestly i have such an awful pain tolerance (cried after every piercing i’ve ever had done lmao) and even i didn’t need any sort of pain relief such as paracetamol/morphine (but if you do feel like you need it, take it!) if you have any qs abt a section pls feel free to msg me! you’re gonna be fine queen xxxxx
Unfortunately I can’t lie to u lol
Mine was January 2023 and it wasn’t bad at all. Ask your OB if they can play a speaker in there, my doctor and the people helping him was jamming to country music Spotify during it he let me choose the genre😂 Honestly not bad, I remember crying days before mine but the day of I was so tired and starving I was ready( You can’t eat before your c section for so long). I didn’t even know he started cause the numbing worked so fast, I was told my son would be out in couple minutes and I was shocked he started I didn’t feel anything! If anything the tugging sucks during it but it doesn’t hurt, it’s weird feeling. Recovery is what is more the harder part, walking afterwards. I was walking kinda hunched down for awhile cause it but I wanna say by week 3 I was walking and doing more. But PLEASE take your time, listen to them when they say to take it easy. I didn’t, my husband had to go back to work sooner then wanted and I got a umbilical hernia and diastis recti (ab split) from doing to much
Make sure you’re taking the Tylenols and everything they really do work for pain. If your feeling weird afterwards mention it to the nurse I was anemic afterwards and just had to take some pills to fix it.
I had an emergency c section and I loved it. I was so against a c section my whole pregnancy, but when it came to it, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. It was so relaxed and I was well informed the whole procedure. Recovery was also amazing, I was shopping 6 days after and driving after 9! Good luck x
