Infrequent poos

Anybody else’s baby not poo very often? She went through the normal poo stages for the first few days then didn’t poo for a week, apparently because she wasn’t getting enough in to come out. Started doing formula top ups and she pooed a few days later but she’s only pooing now once every couple of days at the most. Plenty of wet nappies but not much poop. She’s now having majority of her feeds being formula but still having expressed breast milk also due to her not feeding from the breast successfully.

My little one poo's every 3 days. They said it was normal and only a concern if over 7 days.

In the same boat, my little one went from pooing everyday to every few days now. Mostly bf with top up of formula, have a feeling that this may be confusing her system a bit. Took her to the GP just to find out it’s normal and if it’s been 7 days then that’s when it’s a concern. They recommend cool boiled water

You could try belly massage round in a clockwise motion and moving legs as if she's riding a bike we had this problem and found this to help massively she went from every 3-4 days to now once a day also a warm bath before bed as it helps them relax

@Selina How long would you do the massage and legs for? And how often? I try to do them but tbh only remember when she’s actually squirming and by then she’s too restless for me to do it properly :/

I've been doing them for about a minute each about 15 - 20 mins after feeding I'll feed her burp her have her sitting up for about 10 mins then do it after that all helps them digest formular food our little one dosent like the leg movements so I do them a little longer

My 7 week old is the same, pooing every 2-3 days (formula fed baby) xx
