Off food

My LO has never been a big or good eater. We struggled to wean, with textures and took us a really long time to get to the point I could say she was enjoying food. Up until last week, she was having a full meal for dinner, fruit, yogurt and a little dessert. This lasted about a month. She got chicken pox last week and started to refuse food. I can tell she’s feeling better, even if not completely over it, but she is still refusing food. Only things I can get in her seem to be spaghetti, sweet corn and veggie straws. Then the odd bits of baby bell cheese, cashew nuts, two spoonfuls of yogurt and maybe a cookie. She used to love fruit, especially bananas, now she doesn’t even want to look at them. But she would happily drink milk all day (breast milk, because cows milk is apparently a big disappointment, judging by her face everytime she is offered). I don’t know what else to do. She will look at a plate and ask for food, taste it and immediately say “no mummy”. I’m losing the will. Any advice I could try, before I start feeding her spaghetti and sweet corn for every single meal?

Im sure you have, but does blitzing different veggies into the spaghetti sauce work or are you not keen to try to not put her off spaghetti too? My little one is similar with certain foods, I've now gone to making breads or chapatis with the vegetables in the dough itself so I know he's getting some nutrients. What about a fruit smoothie? Or oats as a Cereal with fruit in there, it's easy food to eat and has a nice sweet taste.

My daughter is exactly the same...before she liked to eat macaroni but now refusing them, she also likes sweet corn and brocoli...she likes bananas , but now does not want them...she been unwell with a running nose and cough, maybe this is a reason but even before I could not say she is a good eater

@Panisha I’ve blitzed veg in the past as it’s the only way she will eat them (except for sweet corn, celery and carrot), but now I’m a bit afraid she’ll be put off. I tried to give her a tray of spaghetti bolognaise for dinner today (to see if she would have some veg) and she had about two spoons of it. @Nastia I hope it’s just a phase. We were in such a good place before this. Maybe her eating so much for dinner was to “stock up” for now 😂
