Baby fell off the bed

I had made it all this long without my baby falling off my bed until this morning 😭 I bring him into my bed in the mornings for a little snooze and cuddles and he always intertwined with me, but this morning I woke up to him falling off my bed and I feel SO guilty. I do have a big thick rug on the floor which he landed on but I didn’t actually see him fall, he only cried for a minute and has been fine since. Just keep worrying if he hit himself on the wall or the bedside table or the pokey out plug socket but he doesn’t have any bumps and is fine in himself. But my god I feel like the worst mum ever! Every time I look at him I wanna cry 😭

Mine has done this multiple times and by Gods grace he wasn’t badly hurt either! Don’t worry mama it happens, gravity exists and none of us are perfect x

Well done on making it this far!! It's a horrible feeling but it happens x

My husband taught our baby how to get off the bed and now he just does it sliding down so he doesn’t fall

You’re not the worst mum ever. Accidents happen and when it happened with my first child I panicked and called the doctor right away. Unless they show signs of concussion then they will be 100% fine.

This has happened 4 times to my baby. She’s absolutely fine every time although I do ring 111 and the GP just for a second opinion as I’d never forgive myself if anything ever happened to her. Don’t worry, and I’m sure it won’t be the last time! X

Our baby has fallen off the bed more times than I can count now, luckily it’s super low and we have carpet and a rug so it’s a soft landing. He’s so fast 💨 💨 I also accidentally dropped him in the car footwell while breastfeeding last weekend, and by some miracle he didn’t hit anything and didn’t even cry! Like everyone says, accidents happen. You’ll do your best to prevent them but babies are slippery little suckers! X

I’m impressed. I thought I done good going 6 months without my daughter falling off the bed! First time is always the worst but my daughter has had another few sore ones that didn’t seem to bother her, babies are so resilient! Obviously just keep an eye on things today, if they seem really overly fussy, really overly tired or if they’re sick or anything. But I doubt that’s going to happen, it’s just always something to consider in case it does need seem to!

Well done to you for making this far! Has happened a few times with my baby and every time I feel like the worst mum and every time she has been ok, these things happen

Honestly I felt like the worst mum when it happened 🫣 the scream I’d never heard anything like it nearly panicked and went to a&e after a couple of minutes of cuddles and giving her a melty stick you’d never think anything had happened 😅 honestly tougher than we think sometimes. She was back to laughing I went in the bathroom and cried 🫣

Mine did this last month and I immediately called 111 in a panic who got me a GP call back and subsequently an unnecessary trip to paediatric emergency department. I felt absolutely horrendous that it happened as I sat her on the bed for 2 seconds and the speed rolled. No one once judged me, if anything I was told it's not going to be the first time something like that happens

Mine slid down the side of the sofa butt first and was sandwiched in half, he was looking at me like he’d been betrayed 😂 honestly it happens to us all! Sounds like your little one is totally fine so give yourself some grace!

This happened to me a few months back and sometimes I think about it randomly and it makes me feel awful!! As long as baby is ok, accidents happen xx

😂 thanks guys this made me feel much better

@Zana this made me LAUGH 😂
