Veggies

What veggies are your toddlers eating? I need to increase my toddlers exposure to veggies but she doesn’t like them and they end up going to waste. With the price of groceries I don’t want to keep wasting food if I can avoid it.

My little boy eats peas, carrots, broccoli & sweetcorn. I very rarely buy cauliflower or sprouts or runner beans because I don't like them. I probably should, though.

Mine likes broccoli 🥦, tomatoes 🍅, carrots 🥕, corn 🌽…. The more she sees me eating veggies the more she’ll keep wanting to eat new veggies . I also supplement her with fruit , berrry n veggie gummies n she loves those which have over 11 fruits n veggies n berries each and she chews plantbased omega capsules and drinks a vitamin B12 liquid supplement 🥰🌱 I’m a holistic nutritionist btw. Would u like to checkout the gummies I supplement her nutrition with ? 🥦💕

Mine doesn't always eat them on their own but if I do a savory mince with veggies mixed through he usually eats a fair bit He's very up and down, some days hates broccoli other days loves it. Capsicum is a favorite and peas and corn (sometimes he wants them still cold from the freezer) Carrots and pumpkin too

My toddler eats carrots, sweetcorn, peas, brocolli. Doesn't seem that interested in green beans or cauliflower

Mini sweet peppers (he likes to dip them in spinach dip or hummus), cucumbers, peas, corn, and cherry tomatoes!

Right now the only way she’s getting veggies is if I hide them in her food. We’ve gotten to the point where she’ll lick the whole veggies on her plate. But won’t eat it.

Offering different dips for different veggie’s really helped my son!

The only veggies my 13 month old refuses to eat is peas, asparagus, and brussel sprouts. Everything else is fair game! His favorites are squash, green beans, and corn:)

Mine like raw mushrooms, raw bell pepper, zucchini, lettuce, onion, carrots, celery, cucumber/pickles, asparagus, radish, and sweet potatoes. We never eat out so they only have what’s available at home, but that’s only cause fast food makes my stomach hurt and low on funds for restaurants lol. A great way to get lots of veggies in is to put them in pasta sauces, makes muffins with zucchini and carrots, and lots of other way to use them up so they don’t get wasted! I get a lot of my ideas from this account to make veggies and fruits more fun! https://www.instagram.com/yummytoddlerfood?igsh=MTZxNWJ4Y2dja3p4Zw==

To increase exposure to veggies, you don’t have to put a ton of them on her plate. One piece of veggie that she can stare at/pick up/hopefully nibble would be good. Some studies say kids can need as many as 30 exposures to a food before they try it. And “exposure” can just be looking at the veggie. I know it’s super discouraging when they won’t even try something you make for them, but keep offering veggies!

Just sweetcorn! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Some days not even that. It's a constant battle. Our 2 year check was a few months back and she said children tend to be either a veggie eater or a fruit eater...ours is neither! He won't even have sauces on pasta or anything so can't blend it to hide it in. I put the sweetcorn on but also one of another veg just to give him the exposure. He had the smallest bit of carrot in his mouth the other day and then spat it out but it's a step forward.
