My FH has been high. Ultrasound confirmed baby is measuring big. At 34 weeks I was measuring 38 weeks. FH is not super accurate. I’d rely more on an ultrasound but even that’s not fully accurate.
I was measuring the same as you at the start of my 37th week! Have you had a chance to talk to your doctor yet about it? I think every doctor will have their own suggestions and recommendations for you depending on your own situation (number of previous birth, medical concerns, restrictions, etc) so don’t stress too much if you haven’t talked to your doctor yet!! This is my second baby so my doctor will let me go until 40 weeks to try to avoid a pitocin induction (something I really do not want) because apparently your pelvis stays adjusted to pushing babies out after the first one. She did caution that could mean over a 10lb baby for me. She recommends doing an induction at 39 weeks which I will likely do because I do have another little one at home I would like to plan for if we can. I’m concerned haha big babies are scary. My first was 5lb12 oz at 40+3!! Nerve racking to think I could have a baby nearly double that coming out of me but I also know that our bodies can do it!!!
I’ve heard it’s not really accurate after 35wks because baby’s starting to shift into position for birth, which alters the measurement. Anything within 2cm (plus or minus) is generally what they’re looking for, in my experience.
Just fingered crossed.
Just had this happen to me! I was measuring two weeks ahead so they scheduled me for a growth scan which I just had two days ago and nope, my baby is still small (but completely healthy) she was on the smaller side in all of her scans so I kind of figured she didn’t randomly become huge lol. My doctor said it can be a couple of weeks off due to babies position or amniotic fluid but they like to give you a scan just to make sure! If your babies growth has been consistent this whole time then I’m sure it’ll be the same for you. Baby was probably just in a position that pushed your stomach out more making it seem like you’re measuring bigger. I got measured again after my scan and the tape read 35 and I was 35+6 so measured smaller that time lol. Ultrasound will give you great peace of mind.
