I’ve had traces of this before. It can mean something but can also mean nothing. If it’s not accompanied by anything else it’s likely fine! Protein in urine can mean a uti or first signs of preeclampsia but with both there are other things that show up to confirm. If they’ve not been concerned then you’ll be fine! Just make sure you’re drinking enough incase it’s the start of a uti x

Trace amounts are normal and if the midwife wasn’t concerned then it’s not an issue. They test urine to look for high levels as this can be an indication of preeclampsia or infection. Trace levels however are pretty normal and could just be an indication of more hydration needed or that your body has been fighting something. I had higher levels when I had a vomiting bug and so couldn’t keep fluids down. I’ve had trace levels on some tests and totally clear on others. It’s not really something you can control, just the way your body/kidneys are working. Wouldn’t be worried at all though as midwife hasn’t said anything and they test each time you see them.

I had a little and it just turned out to be thrush (phew!). Can definitely be unnerving though - my midwife said they only tend to be concerned if they see 2+ symptoms

Midwife said it's only a concern if paired with other symptoms like high blood pressure, headaches or other things I don't remember. I wouldn't worry if your midwife wasn't worried.

I’ve had samples that had a trace then the next ones be completely normal! I think if they’re accompanied by other things in the urine or symptoms like high BP it can be a something but otherwise I think it’s Normal
