Thoughts on the implant?

I’m trying to find the best birth control for me & I don’t plan on getting pregnant anytime soon since having my son. I want something that don’t mess with my hormones too much 😒 I get very bad mood swings etc and something that won’t give me acne too?

also, anyone tried the patch birth control?

Obviously the reaction/side effects can be different for everyone but - Implant - Was on this for 3 years. I was constantly on, lucky if I got a day off once in a blue moon. Really affected my moods, made me very depressed and suicidal. They refused to remove it, kept making excuses, kept rearranging my removal appointment so I ended up having to remove it myself. Patch - Loved the patch, did make me feel nervous as it was difficult to trust that a patch could be used as bc so I was still super anxious about getting pregnant 😂 didn't have any issues with it falling off or anything but unfortunately I was allergic to the adhesive so couldn't stay on it.

I’ve had depo and the implant. Both I like because I don’t get periods or have to worry about taking it. It does vary with everyone. I probably get less spots since taking it as used to flare up once a month.

Had the implant for 6 years, replaced twice. Honestly, I was fine with it, was very reliable (loved not having to take pills everyday) and didn't really affect my moods that I could tell. The downside to it was that I had much longer periods than usual, albeit light ones - I'm talking months without one and then a light period that lasted 3 whole weeks - and it definitely lowered my sex drive a bit. Came off it and got pregnant after pretty much straight away. The thing I'd say with all hormonal birth control is that it is super, super variable from person to person. You might try it and hate it, in which case I'd ask in advance about how easy it would be to get it removed and switch it up for another form of LARC

I had it twice. When I was with my ex I was on it and then when after I had my third I was on it for 2 years. I hated how it made my periods. But other than that I thought the implant was fine. It’d make my period be on and off and last like 2 weeks sometimes.

I got the iud since it’s non hormonal
