I'm so sorry that happened. I lost my dog while pregnant and it was awful. Your vet might be able to do an autopsy to figure out why if you want. I had a friend who had this happen with their less than 4 year old dog and they found out he had an underlying kidney issue they had no way of knowing about. I think it gave her some peace to know he didn't suffer and she couldn't have prevented it.
@Karin yes to the litter box part. I wish I knew!!!!! I took him to the ER days before this and they couldn’t figure it out. Screw them 😞
@Kelsey am so sorry it happened to you as well.. I am so close to being due and I can’t help but to wish he was there to meet the baby.. I suddenly lost interest in the happy part of being pregnant and just feel like it is a task and nothing else… I know it is wrong and I know my maternal instincts will kick in but right now I just feel like I lost my very own first true best friend and child
I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy, but even harder when it's unexpected. I lost 3 animals that way, one was our first animal adopted together, when I was 7 months pregnant with our daughter. & They are all always with us. Those dreams are real. You will get through and refocus; partly for your kitty and partly for your new little one.
I’m so very sorry. A 2 year old male cat passed away suddenly? Were they meowing loudly at all or hanging out near the litter box a lot? If so, most likely urinary crystals. Male cats can pass away very quickly from a blockage from crystals.
