FET

Hi all, I’ve had two fresh embryo transfers that both failed. One was in May and one November. Now moving on to frozen embryo transfers in January. Have a consultant appointment tomorrow to discuss anything we can change to try make it work this time. Anyone have any experience with this or ideas or advice? Fresh is supposed to be high chance but both times failed. I am not sure what we could change but something isn’t working!

Both my fresh failed. One chemical And one MMC. My first frozen is my daughter and I’ve just had another frozen transfer that has currently worked too. I did natural transfers which I liked because I didn’t need meds.

I understood frozen with PGT testing has better successful rate than fresh. I did not try a fresh cycle bc we wanted the benefit of PGT testing.

My clinics statistics show that frozen are more successful than fresh. My fresh transfer failed and then I had a frozen transfer the following month which worked. Currently 9 weeks pregnant. I had an unmediated cycle, which I absolutely loved because I felt like my body had a chance to regulate itself. My consultant said that if there isn’t any reason to be medicated then it is best to let your body do what it does best. Good luck with your FET 🥰🥰

I had failed transfers until I did natural transfers

I was at a similar point to you and we did some recurrent implantation failure tests. These showed that I had a higher risk for clotting and immune issues, so for the next couple of transfers we added in blood thinners and steroids. All of these things come with their own risks, so have a look at the HFEA website to see if it’s worth it for you. https://www.hfea.gov.uk/treatments/treatment-add-ons/immunological-tests-and-treatments-for-fertility/ As other people have said, PGT testing could also increase your chances (but there’s other things to weigh against that, so do a bit of research). https://www.hfea.gov.uk/treatments/treatment-add-ons/pre-implantation-genetic-testing-for-aneuploidy-pgt-a/ For us, it took four tries: one fresh (fail), one MMC following a FET, some PGT-a testing (where we lost four of our remaining six embryos), another FET (another fail) and then finally success with our last euploid embryo.

First I am sorry for your losses. My first fresh transfer failed and after switching doctors, getting further opinions from RE- I was advised fresh transfers were not preferred method and that was in 2021. My 2cents- I would ask if you can get an ERA and if you can do Accupuncture before and after the transfer My FET resulted in my now lively 2yr old.
