Milk supply guilt

My baby is a month old today and I have been pumping since he was born. I finally got my supply steady when he was 3 weeks old but a few days later I had to go to the hospital for my gallbladder so pumping was not happening because of some of the medicine and getting and when I got home I was so exhausted so my supply has suffered for it. I feel so guilty for my supply going from over 5oz in total every pump to maybe 1oz. I am disappointed that I might not get my supply up and didn't even last a month. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated if possible. Rn I am trying to pump every two hours to get my supply back

supply and demand! milk removal is the best way to boost the supply!

Adding in a power pump for a few days can also help. Other things: Make sure you are eating protein Hydration!

Your baby typically gets more milk out than a pump will. Breastfed babies usually don’t ever drink more than 4 oz, so it honestly sounds like it was more of an over supply before. There’s nothing wrong with producing just enough. I produce enough to pump 2oz of milk extra in the morning and that’s all I get . My baby is gaining and that’s what matters. If you really want to increase supply keep pumping, and add in power pumps.

Are you nursing and pumping or exclusively pumping

I am exclusively pumping

He had a decent latch but I struggled with it

I mean… I only ever got an Oz- I completely dried up after I was put on bp medicine for a random spike in BP post partum- they never told me the side effects- tanked my prolactin and it can’t come back… be an advocate before you listen to drs

Lots of Protein, Hydration and Milk Removal whenever possible! Also, maybe try Goats Rue, my LC recommended it and it's helped me so much.
