My children aren’t allowed to use social media until they are 18
Just YouTube shorts. They probably watch the same crap for the most part across the board. But i won’t allow any other social media until MAYBE 16. Just bc it’s not recommended for the mental well being before that. And even 16 is probably still too young but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.
YouTube kids
Just Netflix and Samsung Tv channels via WiFi.
YouTube kids but only on the living room tv and it’s closely monitored. My kids don’t have devices (oldest is 9).
Have to back @SquishyMommy1 Our daughter is nearly 5 & we value time together. We aren't crazy & do 15-30 min living room TV time together once a day if the day calls for it.. but the plan is no social media until 18. At 13 or 14 we can think about a kid phone that doesn't have internet just call and text. I prefer to normalize how I grew up & it gives us as parents a better overall bond as a family. Lately my daughter keeps telling me/ us how much she loves us 🥰 we went through so much toddlerhood... for these moments.
My son uses YouTube and TikTok
He’s 5 he doesn’t have any SM. When we come home from a day out he might turn on his switch and play Mario for an hr, or 2. Or just dance. Whenever he ever grabs my phone he’s watching himself, friends and family from my video gallery lol that’s what he likes watching. And then I have people FaceTiming him- Uncles Aunties and cousins so he gets at least one video call a day.
He watches some YouTube on his dad or my account, that's it. He doesn't have any accounts for anything.
Mine aren’t allowed on any of them.
Tiktok unfortunately. I tell him there's so much misinformation on social media though. sometimes he'll send me videos and I tell him it’s just complete nonsense and it’s not true. He's 12 I don’t think anyone under his age should be using it at all. My 2yo watches yt but just to watch baby shark or blippi occasionally.
