Depo injection

Has anyone else had the Depo injection. I’ve had two injections now and I’m currently late on my period by about 20 days. I’m aware it can take ages for your period to regulate after a baby but I’ve also read that in some cases it stops your period all together. Has anyone else experienced this? Where they’ve not had a period. Additionally I’m not pregnant. I am only 17 weeks pp so it could just be my cycle hasn’t regulated. But thought potentially I’m just one of the peoples who’s period stops. This did happen to me on the pill I was on before pregnancy so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how my body has reacted. Any advice or stories from the injection let me know x

I was on the depo ages ago and stopped it in 2018. My period stopped completely. Once I stopped the depo, it never came back. Maybe I’m just a one off situation and I definitely don’t want to alarm you but I had issues with fertility when I stopped the depo shot and decided to do ivf last year. Now after having my son, I use the ring contraceptive and get a short period regularly.

I took 2 depo shots back in 2018 & it put my body into menopause. I was only 23 years old & contacted a lawyer to sue my Dr's because urgent care scans on my bones said I was rapidly losing bone in my joints & THEY said it's concerning. But my doctor wanted to see if this was from stress or hereditary first. I called my ob back & let them know I am contacting a lawyer because I am so unwell I couldn't walk & it had been 13 months without a period since Depo There are lawsuits today & I've joined in. It did majorly affected my fertility & THEY had to pay for ME to get injection hormone therapy through IVF bc of my body was literally in menopause.

I had the depo shot for a few months and it really messed me up too. It took me over a year to regulate my hormones. It’s literally made me crazy.

Depo shots stopped mine completely but so did the progesterone only pill in general so it’s not uncommon I switched between the 2 for about 10 years. Every so often I would take a break just for a cycle and restart. Only issue I had over time was increased bp but every 3 months I would get it checked and reassessed to see if I should stay in it

I had 3 injections and bled for the whole 9 months. Had a really bad experience with the nurses with it as after the first I didn’t want more and they kept telling me it’s normal it will die down by injection 3 (spoiler alert, it didn’t!!!) I was really sore at this point!! Turns out when I spoke to another different nurse I’m part of like 0.00001% of people that it affects that way (constant bleeding) so they didn’t think it was that and I will never ever get it again in the future.

When I first started taking it I didn’t have one for about 5 months, now I just randomly bleed for a few days, I used to bleed quite a bit at first like 30 days+ now it’s just under 7 xx

I had it for 9 years with no periods came off it took 5 months for a period then fell pregnant straight away then had my second child back on it now for 2 years no periods again
