Wisdom teeth removal tomorrow

Hi! I’m getting three wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning. The dentist does not know I’m pregnant, as my primary dentist refused to see me until after I delivered when I initially called but I have a bad infection in them so I choose to not tell the next dentist who I am seeing tomorrow for the extraction. Can anyone let me know safe pain medication to take after getting them out? I would assume only Tylenol? It will only be local injections for the removal process. Anything they prescribe to me, I won’t take unless I know it’s safe. I believe he mentioned an antibiotic like amoxicillin, a mouthwash and some pain relievers. I know I’m not allowed to take ibuprofen.

If you can avoid it until after giving birth I really would. I was sedated for mine and when that wore off I was in absolute agony. I have quite a high pain threshold and this was just another level of pain!!! I was taking antibiotics, paracetamol and ibuprofen and was still in pain :(. It's lasted for around 3-4 days after having them out

You really should be upfront just in case they give you something that is going to react badly with being pregnant. Or your blood pressure spikes or something just goes wrong. You can always ask for antibiotics to help with the infection to hold you over until after you give birth. That’s a big piece of medical information to withhold. There’s reasons why your primary dentist isn’t touching those teeth until after you give birth.

Pregnancy can give u problems with ur teeth so pls tell ur dentist and do not hide it

I would definitely contact a pediatrician office and ask if it is okay. You might also be able to confirm with your OBGYN. My back surgeon said I couldn’t bf with certain medications but my pediatrician said it’s okay. I also did a lot of research and asked other moms in similar situations.

Dentists generally desist from doing tooth removals and many procedures on a pregnant woman for the safety of the unborn child. If you tell them they will find an alternative solution to your infections that will see you through to after you’ve given birth. I recommend you tell them instead of taking the risk
