Meds for FET

I’ve had a fresh transfer but due to have my first frozen transfer which will be a medicated one. My husband seems to think that won’t involve any injections - anyone know if that’s true? / what sort of meds I might expect? Due to speak to consultant about meds etc but being impatient 😂

It depends, there are FET protocols with just oestrogen tablets and progesterone pessaries, there are others with additional progesterone injections depending on what your levels are like prior to transfer and then there is also clexane which is a blood thinning injection

Depends on the clinic. For me I am currently waiting for FET on 2/11 and I was prescribed estrace (estrogen) and progesterone in oil injections. Currently taking the estrogen

Depends on what your clinic thinks you need. I was injecting twice a day on top of tablets and pessaries, but I was on a lot of medication

I ended up having to have progesterone injections for this one, but my first FET was just tablets and pessaries x

Thanks guys. I have heard progesterone in oil injections are super painful 😣

I had tablets and pessaries but due to low progesterone I’ve had to inject lubion this time round. They’re fine though and do not hurt x

If you get your partner to do it in you bum it’s really not that bad. I did it in my leg at a first and that was awful so advice against that!!!!

I'm currently going through a medicated protocol. I started with 5 injections to stop my ovaries (the same ones as the fresh round) have also been taking oestrogen tablets and will also be doing pessaries when we get the transfer booked in. Hope that helps

I just finished my mock FET cycle. Started with Estradiol pills orally 3 times a day then after 2 weeks I started progesterone capsules that I inserted 3 times a day for 4 days then I added on the oil injections on alternate days then did my ERA biopsy. The oil injections are not bad (I did them myself coz my partner works mostly out of town) just numb the area with an ice pack a few minutes prior and use a mirror to see your bum. The ERA biopsy on the other hand was EXCRUCIATING. Good thing is that the biopsy is about 10 seconds, worst 10 seconds I have ever experienced. Now I'm waiting for the results then I'll start my actual FET cycle. Baby dust to all of us!

All depends on your clinic and your background. I’m going to be on lubion injections x 2 daily plus 1 x fragmin blood thinner.
