I'm sat waiting for a thyroid blood test was it tsh?

@Natalie what does the tsh mean?

@Jade thyroid simulating hormone it's blood test that looks at thyroid, how did you find out yours was under active?

@Natalie ah I got a blood test to see if I was low in anything and they called me back today. So I’m taking levothyroxine once a day

@Jade ah cool I'm waiting for my results back but had two days of blood tests

@Natalie aw when are your tests coming back

I’ve had it for a number of years now and had no issues falling pregnant on it. Just make sure your levels are okay and on the right dosage.

@Kajal oh really? She gave me 50mg, how long did it take for you to conceive ur first baby on it?

@Jade You’ll need blood tests every few months to check you are on the right dosage and when you do fall pregnant will have to increase it. I conceived straight away (honeymoon baby)

@Kajal straight away while taking the medication? Yeah that’s what the doctors said aswell, my cycles are regular so I’m hoping they don’t mess up

@Jade It was after a few years on medication but I didn’t try for a baby until I got married. Fell pregnant on the first try. My periods are regular too but I’ve heard underactive thyroid can affect fertility but once levels are managed it’s fine. Just make sure you check your levels soon as you find out you’re pregnant x

@Kajal did ur cycle change at all? When on it that’s what I’m worried about cause they are regular don’t want them to become irregular, hopefully can fall pregnant quite quick after this xx

@Jade No, it didn’t affect my cycles at all. I only noticed weight loss. My cycles have always been regular before and after Levothyroxine. Sending you lots of luck ❤️

@Kajal did u lose a lot of weight i heard it’s cause of water retention? X

@Jade I was puffy before my diagnosis but after medication I lost all that. It wasn’t a huge weight loss. I haven’t notice any issues being on it. It improved all my symptoms like weight gain, sensitivity to the cold, hair loss etc. I wouldn’t worry about it. It’ll definitely help you feel better.
