IUD

Hello ladies, I’m trying to get an IUD and I’m very scared I heard a lot of horrible stories and I’m not willing to go through another pain trauma. Do you know if in Canada I can ask them to put me to sleep or anything that will make the process easier? Also what IUD do you recommend

I have one and my ob was able too do it it was honestly a very quick thing I'd say about 5 minutes tops

I am in Canada. I did my research for over a year until I got mine. I have Kyleena. I did it at a women's clinic because they do this regularly as opposed to my family doctor who said it would take up to 30 mins because she did not do it a lot. It only took 5 mins. And they used a local anesthesia. Although they used anesthesia it was still painful but at least it was quick. Also, I learned alot has to do with your body. You can DM me and we can talk more.

I have the mirena and this is the second time I’ve gotten it. I was not put to sleep but it was alright although I have a high pain tolerance. I just took Tylenol an hour before the procedure.

I went to the doctor today she said she’ll give an anti inflammatory pill but she doesn’t think numbing the uterus before pinching it is necessary cuz it will take 30 min while the whole thing can be done in 10 min. I’m kinda not happy with it because pinching the uterus isn’t something normal lol
