Pill 💊 BC

So i know that when u take the pill (birth control) u have to take it the same time every day, but does it have to be the EXACT same time? For example if im taking it at 9:30pm i have to always take it at 9:30pm ? Nothing earlier nor anything later?? Also if im on the pill do we HAVE to use condoms? What are the chances of taking it how its supposed to & still getting pregnant ??! Im 3m pp & Im done this is my 4th, ao no more for me

I used both condoms and BC when I absolutely did not want to get pregnant. Once we were married we just used BC pills. I didn’t take it at the exact time, but I always took it at bedtime. If I ever forgot, I would just take the one I missed and the one for the day. If that were the case I would either abstain or use condoms. It can decrease in reliability somewhat easily and I wasn’t willing to risk it. It can also take a couple months for it to be fully effective, so I would use condoms for like the first 3 months. I personally never got pregnant on the pill, but it can happen.

I'd use condoms at least the first 2 months because the effectiveness isn't that 99%+ until after a while of consistent use. I took mine within 2 hours of the same time every day. People usually set alarms because if they don't see the time they won't be reminded to take it so it's better to shoot for that exact time since being a little off is totally fine but a big difference could get you less effective protection

I took mine either 5 minutes before or after. The closer to the same time the better.

I got pregnant on the pill 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Maybe your hubby can do vasectomy, so it would be no brainer. Also, tracking your temperature and using condoms only 6 days a month when ovulating is much easier and doesn't mess with your health and hormones. I use Natural cycles app for that 🙂 but if you still choose pills, for those 99% you need to take it same time, and it's hard, I used to do that and it was stressing me out 🫠

Not all of them have to be taken at the exact same time. It varies per contraception pill. What about something like a coil or injection that you don’t have to think about everyday? (Again I know not 100% effective) or vasectomy for hubby?

If it’s a progesterone only pill, then yes the time does matter and you want to take it at the same time every single day for the best effectiveness. I was on the pill for 10 years and took it at the same time because I was paranoid of getting pregnant and we didn’t use condoms and had no scares of getting pregnant. Obviously there’s a ton of factors that could affect the effectiveness of it so just keep in mind that it isn’t 100% effective! Like someone mentioned on here before that they got pregnant while on the pill but that can also happen on any other form of birth control.

I do have an alarm so i can take it at the exact same time because this is needed to me and i dont want to have an oopsies. My baby is still so small and we are done. Im 33 and exhausted! We have enough kids plus with everything going on in this world its too crazy! And as for vasectomy, we are hispanic and the “macho” i feels plays a big role in him not doing it. But like i tell him hes the one whos set on no more kids but doesn’t help prevent us getting pregnant, it would be the most logical thing to do, plus ive already delt with so much its easier for him to do it
