Advice plz

My 2 and half year old is all of a sudden waking up screaming crying at 12pm every night wanting to get in the big bed (our bed) he’s never slept in our bed before so I don’t know why all of a sudden he’s interested. He usually sleeps from 7 till 8 every night no wake ups so it’s all new to us🙈😴When he first started his childminders he was crying and screaming but then got used to it because he realised it wasn’t bad and he could play with his friends. Now all of a sudden he’s screaming crying again as soon as we walk up the door wanting to go home but as soon as she opens the door he waves at her and stops crying and walks in all happy. He’s been going for a year too. Do you think he’s going through a growth progression or whatever they are called (I can’t think with the lack of sleep😂)He just keeps having massive melt downs over little things😔He’s just wanting to be with me 24/7 and he can’t because we both work and I feel so guilty. I literally cry to work😭

We had a few episodes of waking up crying and I think it’s a start of children’s nightmares which is normal at this age. So I definitely let him sleep in our bed and encourage this so he knows the safe place. We adults know that monsters don’t exist but it’s serious for a child and it’s important to support them

@Natalie Thank you, he has been talking about monsters recently saying they are upstairs so that’s probably it. He settled as soon as he got in our bed bless him so I’m glad he felt safe and comfortable xx

It does sound like a phase of separation anxiety. We got a nightlight which worked for a bit. But he has been waking and coming into our bed around 1ish for the last few months. We go with it as he wants to be close to us and as long as he goes to sleep I don’t mind 😂 he goes to bed about 9 so tends to sleep in until about 7.30-8 so wake up not too bad x
