MIL
My mother in law took my bonus daughter valentine shopping. My bonus daughter runs into the house, I say hello and she goes “hold on I have to take these flowers to the bedroom for Zara’s mom” it took me aback because I wanted to be like..wait who do you think Zara”s mom is?. Then my MIL starts putting cards together and when my bonus daughter gave me the card, the envelope says my name and then the card says “To Zara’s mom, from my daughters name and bonus daughters name” and my husbands is just addressed as “daddy”. Sometimes I feel like my MIL has a problem with my bonus daughter considering me as a mom and has to constantly make it known that things are separate. I feel like she talks to her about it. Its weird.

I think she should call you whatever she feels comfortable with. My SD calls me by my name 🤷♀️
@Rebecca a lot of it is projecting I feel like. She does that a lot. My husband has a step mom and she was super sensitive about my husband calling her any type of mom . She rolls her eyes when she talks about her…talking about “your other mother” so I feel like this is her way of trying to say you only have one mom type thing. Its extremely annoying
