menstrual cups

i was thinking of trying a menstrual cup my next period, is it worth it? i figure itll help save money on disposable products, but idk how i feel about it yet. i’d still use tampons when i go out cause i dont want to have to wash a menstrual cup in a public bathroom yknow? any tips and tricks are appreciated 😵‍💫 i also have an iud, would that be an issue at all? i was told by my obgyn to only use tampons if im gonna fill it pretty good, so that i dont accidentally rip it out because of a dry tampon. is that the same with menstrual cups?

I have an IUD. So long as you break the suction first before trying to pull it out, no problems. :) I prefer the cups except when sleeping. They can be messy when going out if you don’t plan ahead. But yeah! :)

Diva cup has a “washer” cup that you pour water in, take in the stall, drop your dirty cup to wash, and empty so you don’t have to wash in the sink. If we’re traveling or out all day those are the only times I really empty it in public I can usually make it home. It’s fine to be in for 12 hours. The nice thing about it is you can use it whenever so if it’s just spotting you don’t have to worry about pulling a dry tampon out or leave it until it’s full. I’ve been using it for about 10 years and it’s amazing the only time I had problems was the first few months postpartum it was a little uncomfortable

@Tessa is it uncomfortable to put in when you’re only spotting? like does it have friction like a tampon does sometimes

No it feels the same. I always wet the outside with water so it slides in a bit easier
